Pre-Islamic Age of Ignorance: These believers believed that Allah Almighty would not send a human being as a messenger. The Holy Qur’an informs us about these believers as follows: “Did it strike them as strange that We revealed to a man among them, ‘Warn the people and give glad tidings to the believers that they will have an unshakable rank with their Lord’?” The disbelievers said, “This man is clearly a sorcerer.”
ISLAM: Those who make a distinction between Allah and His messengers, saying, “We believe in this, but we do not believe in that,” seeking a middle ground between faith and disbelief, are truly disbelievers. We have prepared a humiliating punishment for the disbelievers.
Apart from Judaism and Christianity, a belief called “Deism” has emerged today. Deism comes from the Latin word “deus” and its exact equivalent in Turkish is “Tanrıcılık” (Godism). Emerging in the 16th century, it criticized the teachings of the churches during the Age of Enlightenment and advocated a religious view based solely on reason. It is a belief that denies revelation and the office of prophethood but accepts a creator who is, in principle, one.
ALLAH (c.c.) says:
When guidance came to people, their only reason for not believing in it was their understanding that “Did Allah send a human being as a prophet?” [593]
There are many deists who are Christian. The real reason these Christians accept deism is because their own religion lacks the concept of prophethood. As a result of accepting Jesus (peace be upon him) as the son of God (God forbid), a religion without prophets emerged, and over time, different beliefs began to arise within it to fill the prophetic void in the religion. Ultimately, a belief in God emerged, a God who did not send a human being as a messenger but whose existence cannot be denied. Since the Sunnah is the living space of religion, its absence has led Christians to these situations. Because every belief that lacks a living space is forced to give birth to different beliefs for itself in order to have a space to live.
Muslims must be well aware that a life lived without a prophet leads to polytheism. Today, too, major games are being played on us in this regard. Although religion is bound to the condition of obedience to Allah and His Messenger, there are those who offer a life without a prophet by demonstrating their allegiance to the one God. They offer this through actions carried out in a peaceful environment. This is a very big game that is being played on Muslims. The first thing to know is that no belief other than true Islam accepts Allah as one. There is only one way to avoid falling for this game. That is to adhere to the Sunnah. No one, at any time, in any way, and with any power, can destroy a community that adheres to the Sunnah. I am not talking about soulless actions such as backbiting while holding a miswak in one’s mouth. I am talking about a life that reminds one of the Prophet when one looks at it. Because the Sunnah is identity formation.
