Pre-Islamic Age of Ignorance: Some of the Arabs denied resurrection. When you die and become a pile of dust and bones, are you promised that you will absolutely be brought forth? What is promised to you is very far off. There is no real life other than worldly life. We die, we live; we will not be resurrected again. [579]
ISLAM: We created man from a drop of fluid, then placed it in a secure resting place. Then We transformed the drop into a clot, then We transformed the clot into a lump of flesh, then We transformed the lump of flesh into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh. Then We transformed it into another creature. How great is Allah, the best of creators! Then you will die. Then you will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment. ([580])
Nowadays: The word atheism is derived from the Greek word Theos, meaning “God.” From this word, the concept of “theism” emerged, meaning “to have faith in God” or “to believe in God.” With the prefix “A” added to it, it means “godlessness.” Philosophically, when examined in two stages— —materialism and idealism—the belief in atheism dates back to ancient Greece. The existence of this ignorant thinking today has been brought back to the agenda with the Marxist ideology fundamentally adopting materialist philosophy. The spread of the capitalist mindset, which leads to an unjust way of life, throughout the world has led to the idea of protecting the rights of the oppressed under this umbrella. The mistake here is that the Islamic faith has also been included in a reactionary or capitalist mindset. Thus, the wrong attitudes of the capitalist mindset have been attributed to the Islamic faith. As a result of this approach, materialist ideology began to deny the belief in the soul. However, neither the errors of the capitalist mindset nor the individual mistakes of Muslims can be attributed to Islam. To deny the Creator’s word without ever investigating it is to see the truth but refuse to accept it. Such audacious behavior toward His essence is like a flea on a lion declaring, “I am the king.” Those who believe in His existence but do not fulfill the conditions of faith are even more audacious than fleas, saying, “He exists, but He cannot interfere with my affairs.” For this reason, it has been decreed that hypocrites will burn in the lowest level of Hell, and atheists in the level above. The Holy Quran informs us of this decree as follows.
ALLAH (c.c.) says:
Indeed, the hypocrites’ place is the lowest level of Hell. You will find no one to help them. ([581])
